ICRI and ijri

On Saturday and Sunday, April 20-21, Illinois Rowing and the ILRA will be hosting the Illinois Collegiate (ICRI) and Junior Rowing Invitationals (IJRI). The growth of these regattas has been incredible- our collegiate teams will be racing against 16 other programs (I hope you said wow)! It's also a great tool to promote our teams, the ILRA, and the overall sport of rowing in the region- all the collegiate and juniors crews will be coming from across the Great Lakes and Plains regions. Anywhere people say in disbelief, "They have rowing here? The only water I know of is Lake [take your pick], or is used to grow soybeans/corn-" they're coming from all of those places.

There's no better way to watch a regatta than getting a better view than everybody else (only half joking), and boy, have we got the opportunity for you! We need to fill ~45 positions this year; whether it's driving a boat alongside the races, getting your hands on a boat to hold it in place at the start line, or handing out hard-earned medals, you will have a way cooler experience than everyone else. Also featured: food! Please click the links below for a free lunch (but you do have to sign up first). In all seriousness, we do absolutely need bodies to make the race safe for not only the hundreds of athletes, but the spectators and other volunteers as well.
