Progression

Progression

All events with 6 or fewer entrants will race in a direct Grand Final.

All events with 7-12 entrants will race in two heats distributed as evenly in numbers as possible with random lane draws. In events with 7 entrants, the top two crews from each heat will advance automatically to the Final. Of the remaining crews, the crew with the fastest time from the heats will also advance to a 5-boat Grand Final. All remaining crews will be ranked by time. For events with 8 or more entries, the top three crews from each heat will advance to the Grand Final. All crews that do not race in a Grand Final will race in a Petite Final. Finals will be for final standing and medals.

Awards

Gold medals will be awarded to the winners of each Final. Silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the second and third place crews in events with at least three or four entries respectively. The Men’s and Women’s Points Trophies will be awarded to the Club with the most points scored by Men’s and Women’s crews respectively, according to the table above. The Illinois State Championship Trophy will be awarded to the Illinois Team scoring the most points across both Men’s and Women’s racing. All trophies are to be returned for next year’s regatta, while an accompanying plaque will be permanently awarded to the winners to commemorate the victory. All trophies are to be returned for next year’s regatta to be re-awarded. Any crews which would like to store the trophies at their home boat houses must sign a release agreeing to return the trophy in acceptable condition.
